The members of the Nigerian Bar Association(NBA) Lagos branch will today at 5pm hang out with all the candidates contesting for positions in the forthcoming National elections of the NBA.
The Lagos branch is the biggest branch of the NBA and has three candidates running for different positions namely namely Mr Paul Usoro SAN for President, Marian Nneka Jones for Assistant Financial Secretary and Chinyere Obasi for 2nd Assistant Secretary.
The Lagos branch with 27% of qualified voters is also the pace setting branch in the activities of the association and legal practice in Nigeria. 90% of Corporate Lawyers in Nigeria practice in Lagos and belong to the Lagos branch.The members have been in the forefront of the campaign to change the way law is practised in Nigeria thus the massive support for Paul Usoro SAN a member of the branch who has made a success of both corporate and courtroom Mail practice.Whom they believe will change the way things are done for a more progressive legal profession.
A good number of the branch members have pledged their support for all the other candidates including Marian Jones who is known for her forthrightness and her dedication to work.Marian Jones is a top courtroom Lawyer with bias for family law.
Chinyere Obasi’s record of service and dedication has endeared her to members of the branch and they have also confidently put her forward to serve at the National bar.
