The Young Lawyers Forum of Ikeja Branch of the Nigerian Bar Asociation held its election on Monday, the 22nd day of June 2020.

The newly elected Executives were sworn in by a Notary Public, immediately after the YLF Ikeja Electoral Committee announced the election result in line with the provisions of the NBA Constitution after which members of the branch’s Y.L.F. were thrown in a celebration mood that lasted throughout the night.

The election was unopposed for most of the positions except for the position of the Chairman which was fiercely contested between Kayode Agbedejobi, the former Publicity secretary of the YLF Ikeja Branch and Yusuf Temilola Nurudeen A.k.a. Optimist with the latter scoring 34 votes out of the 47 total votes to win the election while Kayode Abgedejobi scored 13 votes.

However, a third contestant for the position of Chairman, Adejuwon Adedeji, Esq. who withdrew from the race on the morning of the election and directed his supporters to vote for Yusuf Temilola Nurudeen A.k.a Optimist scored 1 vote.
Yusuf Temilola Nurudeen A.k.a Optimist was returned as the winner of the election while Femi Dodo, Esq., the former Assistant General Secretary was returned as the Vice-Chairman, Rotimi Odunsi, Esq. [Miss] was returned as the General Secretary, Jide Akinrotimi, Esq. as Assistant General Secretary. The position of Treasurer and Publicity Secretary went to Oluwatosin Komolafe, Esq. [Miss] and Opeyemi Okeowo, Esq. respectively.

The outgoing executive is planning a grand handover dinner and send forth party which will be attended by a large number of members of the Legal community and the general public will be informed appropriately.
