The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Criminal Justice Reform Committee has announced that registration for the conference will commence at 12 noon today.

Some conferees have started trooping into the Asaba Convention Centre as early as 8 o’clock today to beat the expected rush for registration.

Many conferees arrived Asaba, the Delta State capital yesterday in readiness for the confab.

Several advance teams for key speakers and dignitaries have also hit town in readiness for the arrival of their principals.

The Asaba Convention Centre is already wearing a new look, given the massive facelift commissioned by the Delta State Government which has vowed not to leave any stone unturned to ensure that conferees have a memorable experience.

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Criminal Justice Reform Committee led by Chief Arthur Obi Okafor SAN yesterday held a meeting with the Local Organising Committee to put finishing touches to the conference plans. The meeting ended around midnight.

The committee had last Sunday held a similar meeting with the Secretary to the Delta State Government to ensure a hitch-free summit.

Several air-conditioned protocol buses provided by the Delta State Government and manned by escort personnel left Asaba this morning enroute Benin to convey conferees arriving via Benin Airport. The buses will return to Benin to ferry conferees arriving with the evening flights.

There are strong indications that, unlike several conferences, participants will not have challenges accessing key conference materials. The committee has already taken custody of conference bags among other items.
