Former Commissioner of Police, and the current Public Complaints Commissioner for Benue State, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav, has been advised by a Makurdi Magistrate’, Isaac Ajim, to bury his pride and tender a public apology to Governor Samuel Ortom, if he knew he had done wrong. Justice Ajim gave the advice yesterday, when he resumed hearing in the case between Benue State Government and Tsav after the former police commissioner’s lawyer, Mr. Anthony Agadah, asked the court for another opportunity to enable him and the governor resolve their dispute out of court. Gov Samuel Ortom , Ajim said: “Most matters drag on due to the inability of those who are wrong to say sorry.” Earlier, Tsav, through his lawyer, Mr. Agadah, had asked the court for more time to enable him settle his matter amicably with Governor Ortom out of court, as he had already complied with the conditions given, except the issue of public apology. Counsel to Benue State government, Mr. Andrew Wombo, told the court that the conditions given to Tsav were for him to write a letter withdrawing his allegations and tender a public apology. Ruling on the matter, Ajim adjourned the case to October 19 for hearing on the preliminary objections and to enable Tsav tender a public apology for an out of court settlement.
