Abia state has appointed a new Solicitor General of Abia State and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice.
Hon. Justice Enyinnaya Okezie who was sworn in yesterday was the Solicitor General. Her first assignment today was to administer the oaths on the new Judges.
Lady Uzoamaka Uche Ikonne, the new SG is a Lawyer and Career Civil Servant. She worked in the Ministry of Justice for many years, rising to become a Director and Administrator General of the Ministry in charge of Estates.
She was made Permanent Secretary and sent to the Ministry of Agriculture where she has served for about five years and up until last night.
Her return to the Ministry of Justice, her primary constituency is exciting and she will drive reforms in the Ministry. Feelers from lawyers in the Ministry who are familiar with her style suggest that with her as Permanent Secretary, it’s either you SHAPE UP OR SHIP OUT!
