Justice Oke- Lagos Chief Judge

The legal year service which officially marks the beginning of the Legal year in Lagos took place today at the Anglican church in CMS Marina presided over by Revd Dr Ephraim Ademowo who told lawyers that he has been involved with the legal year mass for 17 years and Governor Ambode is the first Governor to attend in 17 years.

Governor Ambode of Lagos in his speech at the service  saluted the Judges and Lawyers who appear before them.He saidthat the Lagos Judiciary is the busiest Judiciary in the country which has necessitated the appointment of more Judges.He assured the Judiciary of his continuous support and emphasied that a house is as strong as it’s foundation.He said that his regime has set a foundation and all hands should be on deck to ensure the rule of law.

He said that under Justice Oke,the new Chief Judge, Lagosians are assured of  speedy and prompt dispensation of Justice.

Justice Oke in her brief remark appealed to members of the bar to help the Judiciary in the discharge of their  functions. She expressed the desire of the Judiciary to stop corruption,tardiness,laziness and other factors that affect the dispensation of Justice. She enjoined the members of the bar to avoid unnecessary adjournment and help  her build the dream judiciary.

She also told the congregation that the  judiciary staff will swear to an oath of allegiance,Secrecy and commitment to work.
