Managing Partner of SPA Ajibade & Co, Dr. Babatunde Ajibade,SAN,FCIArb has called on lawyers to adapt to the reality of virtual hearing of matters by court due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

Speaking as a guest on Channels TV Sunrise Morning Show, the learned Silk opined that with restrictions of movement due to the partial lockdown, the judiciary must leapfrog and close a significant gap existing in the speedy administration of justice.

” This will require alot of investment in technological infrastructure, training of Judges, judicial staffs and lawyers too must must be ready to adapt to the new normal as those who are not ready for this change will be left in the cold”.

“We are not going back to business as usual, virtual hearing is now a reality, they have been part of our rules before now but there was alot of resistance because we are naturally resistant to change.

“I think going forward, we are going to see a lot of that and we will be the better for it” he added.
