KIDNAP OF THREE OF OUR COLLEAGUES AND A DRIVER.

Gentlemen, the unfortunate kidnap incident of three of our colleagues to wit: Fred Aburu,Esq., Isreal Unurierume, Esq., Eda Gbejule, Esq., and Kome Esike, ( the driver of the vehicle), along Benin -Auchi road, is disturbing.
The incident awakens the sad reality of what has bedeviled our society, which the Government has found difficult to contain, in order to reassure its citizens of their safety.

The security architecture seems overwhelmed by the dastardly acts of these evil men, that our dear colleagues are presently in their custody.

Whilst we are assured of the commitment of the security operatives particularly the Nigeria Police, Edo State Command, whose jurisdiction the incident occurred, we appeal to other sister Security agencies to collaborate with the Police to ensure the safe release of our colleagues.
We commend the leadership of our sister Branch, the NBA Benin(Lion Bar), for their efforts so far in response to the distress call.

This kidnap incident once again brings to fore the challenges associated with our profession that we are made to live with, in the discharge of our professional duties.

This act of kidnapping calls for a revisit of the Branch resolution that, our Branch members should not appear for any accused charged with kidnapping.

While we await further information from the security agencies, we are enjoined to remember our colleagues in our prayers for their safe release.

Further development on the incident shall be communicated to members.

Signed

Chief Emmanuel O. Uti.
Chairman
NBA Warri Branch.
