A legal practitioner with a strong academic record steps into the race to lead one of Nigeria’s most active bar branches.

Sani Ammani, NP, FICMC, PhD (in view), on Monday, 14 April 2026, submitted his nomination form for the position of Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Kano Branch. The occasion drew a crowd of well-wishers, friends and professional colleagues who turned out to stand with him as he took the step.

The atmosphere was warm and spirited. Those who accompanied him were not merely offering a courtesy; many are practitioners who have closely watched his career and believe this is the right time for him to take on leadership of the branch. Their presence spoke louder than any campaign statement could.

It is that combination that his supporters point to when asked why they back him. He is not new to either the law or to learning, and those who know him say he brings both the experience and the seriousness that the chairmanship demands.

With his form now submitted, Ammani is officially in the race. The Kano Branch elections just got a lot more interesting.
