My dear learned colleague, on behalf of my firm & friends, I welcome you to the 2018 Annual Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Legal Practice, SLP.
Our profession today faces a lot of challenges ranging from incursion into the legal practice by non-lawyers, globalisation, and the unethical conduct of some of our colleagues. The Section on Legal Practice which has been comatose for three years is best positioned to drive our quest to make the Bar a global brand.
I congratulate the President of the NBA, Abubakar B. Mahmoud, OON, SAN, the Chairperson of the SLP, Miannaya Essien, SAN, and other Council Members on resuscitating this Section. I also congratulate all participants for being part of this epoch-making occasion in pursuit of continuing professional development. I wish you all a fruitful and successful conference.
