I read in the national dailies the unwarranted and unjustifiable attack on WACOL staffs that left at least one of the female lawyers critically injured.

I understand that she was said to have been rushed to the intensive care unit of the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu.

It is disheartening to see and hear that the same uniformed men who should be conscious of their primary duty of protecting human lives are the ones brutalizing and putting citizens in the apprehension of fear.

As a female and also as a lawyer, I condemn in its entirety the alleged brutality of the WACOL staffs and more particularly on the female lawyer.

It is obvious that the Nigerian Policemen have in recent times carried some of its duties without caution and I am using this opportunity to call on the Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu to use his good office to investigate this alleged brutality on the female staffs of WACOL especially on the Female lawyer in question which left her badly injured.

Enough is Enough, we cannot continue living in fear as citizens and as females in this country.

The primary duty of the police is to protect the lives and properties of the citizens of Nigeria, women inclusive and any act such as this should not be tolerated.

I believe the IG of police will use his good office to ensure that this is properly investigated and the officers involved brought to book.
