The statement was released by Kunle Edun, the National Publicity secretary of the NBA. It reads:
The sad news of the sudden demise of Hussaini Bala, a former Chairman of NBA- Maiduguri branch reached the Nigerian Bar Association as a big shock.
The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Paul Usoro, SAN is deeply pained with the news of this sad loss.
The NBA President therefore, on behalf of the National Officers and members of the Nigerian bar Bar Association commiserates with the leadership and members of the NBA Maiduguri branch over this very sad loss. The NBA President particularly condoles with the members of the family of our departed colleague and prays that the almighty God will grant them the fortitude and grace to bear the loss.
Hussaini Bala was Chairman of Maiduguri branch 2013-2015 . He was a committed bar man who contributed immensely to the growth of the bar in Maiduguri. He also participated actively in national events of the NBA. He was loved by all.
We understand that he has since been buried according to Islamic rites. May Allah Grant him peace.
