As lawyers begin to arrive Uyo for the NEC meeting ,Paul Usoro (SAN) in his good will message has called all NEC members to put the interest of the association first in their deliberations. In his good will message dated he said
“It is with immense delight that I felicitate with, and welcome the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (“NBA”) and entire members of the National Executive Committee (“NEC”) of the NBA to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, for the Quarterly NEC Meeting. May I first and foremost thank God Almighty, for journey mercies to all our members and guests who have travelled from far and near to be part of this auspicious gathering. I wish to also use this medium to congratulate our Amiable NBA President for successfully organizing a unique and digitalized Annual General Conference. We are indeed in an era of A Brave New Bar!
No doubt, the importance and relevance of NBA NEC, as the second highest decision making body of the NBA, apart from the Annual General Meeting, cannot be under-estimated. Hence, every NEC member of the NBA present here today, has a crucial role to play in realization of NBA’s lofty goals, including but not limited to defending and promoting justice and the rule of law. These indeed, constitute the very essence and bedrock upon which our noble Association was founded.
As we converge to deliberate on and review our affairs and the state of the NBA, I warmly encourage and call on every eminent NEC member to consider the interest of the Association first, and to seize the opportunity to make pragmatic suggestions and contributions that will reposition the NBA, as a formidable force to reckon with, both domestically and globally.
I wish you all a successful deliberation and journey mercies back to your respective destinations.
Long Live the Nigerian Bar Association! Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!
Yours sincerely
Paul Usoro, SAN, FCIArb.”
