The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association for the 2026 election has cleared Onimisi Stephen Obajaja along with two others, Chief Oghenero Okoro and Luqman Laoye to run for the position of 1st Vice President in the forthcoming elections. Whoever wins will become the Vice to any of the Presidential candidates who emerges victorious.
The NBA has a position for the 2nd and 3rd Vice. Both positions are unopposed with Egya Nuhu John and Pepple Iniobong Irene running unopposed.
Esther Ifeoma Jimoh, former Vice Chair of NBA lagos branch, is unopposed for the position of Treasurer.
Cleared for the position of the General Secretary are :AFAMEFUNA OKWUDILI OKEKE , BARTH OKOYE-ANICHE,CHIDI VICK EZENWAFOR ,DR RAPULUCHUKWU ERNEST NDUKA,NNAEBUKA ONYEBUCHINWAEZE and OKEY LEO OHAGBA.
In line with the provisions of the NBA Constitution zoning the Presidency to the west which inclues the South West states, Edo and Delta State, Aare Olumuyiwa Akinboro, Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe and Oyinkansola Badejo- Okunsanya were cleared to run for President.
Akinwunmi Laleye, Aigbokhai Oagie,Chinelo Ofoegbunam, Ernest Uwanaka and Chinwendu Ugochukwu were cleared to run for welfare secretary.

A total of 33 candidates were cleared including those running for other positions like Assistant Publicity Secretary and Assistant General Secretary .
Ayewa Lawrence Ikpehai and Prince Ikwuadi Azubuike will be contesting for publicity Secretary.
16 others were cleared to contest to become part of the General Council of the Bar.
Courtroom Mail will publish the profiles of contestants to provide more insight into the names that will be on the ballot.
