Lawyers of Akwacross lawyers forum making up of lawyers in Akwa Ibom and Cross River rose from a meeting in the early hours of this morning were they discussed crucial issues affecting the bar in the two states.
The meeting held at Entry Point Hotel,Uyo had top lawyers from the region in attendance including Kanu Agabi(SAN), Mba Okweni(SAN),Nella Andem Rabana (SAN),Assam Assam(SAN),Paul Erokoro(SAN), Offiong Offiong(SAN). Chairman of the branches in the region were present in the meeting chaired by the Chairman of the forum Mba Okweni.

The forum which is yet to produce a President of the Nigerian Bar Association from the Eastern Bar Forum expressed joy over the news that Paul Usoro will be contesting in the NBA National elections next year. They agreed that Mr Usoro will be the best foot forward in the election next year and pledged their support for the cause .
Permutations changed when the news filtered in that Paul Usoro was going to be in the race for the election.Progressive lawyers across all ages at the bar in Nigeria began to realign.Paul Usoro is seen as a top contender in the race
However,the forum recognised the importance of the Eastern Bar Forum(EBF) and agreed on a strategy to engage the Umbrella body.
