I have received news of the passing to glory of Hon. Justice Adolphus Godwin Karibi-Whyte JSC (Rtd).

Late Justice Karibi-Whyte was an accomplished and quintessential jurist who rose through the ranks as a Judge of the Federal High Court to become a Justice of the Supreme Court. He was an accomplished writer with many publications to his credit. The late Justice was one of the most erudite and scholarly justices we have had at the Supreme Court, an intellectual colossus and consummate judicial officer who was driven by his passion for justice according to the law.
He will be sorely missed by many.
I commiserate with the Karibi-Whyte family, his friends, the Nigerian Judiciary, and all of us who mourn him. I pray that the good Lord will grant him peaceful repose and give those he has left behind, the fortitude to bear this loss.
