The Nigerian Bar Association,Lagos branch has recorded the history of being the first branch of the NBA to conduct an election through electronic voting under the committee chaired by Ayo Akintunde SAN with Chief Andrew Otohkina and Geff Eze as some of the members.
The feat extends to the seamlessness of the process and the quick resolution of complaints.
According to Anthony Atata, founder of Courtroom Mail and the IBA Africa Chair who was invited by the committee chair to observe the process, the transparency and collation of results real time left no doubt that a bold step has been taken in the annals of the branch concerning the conduct of elections in the association.
He also observed that the agents of various candidates present at the situation room were very satisfied with the process which was very free and fair. They left with no bitterness or rancour against the process. He also observed with admiration how the committee worked hard to solve complaints from voters during the voting excercise which is highly commendable.
Some other members of the branch have commended Ayo Akintunde SAN for the remarkable progress made today in the conduct of the election.
