Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Today, we mark the beginning of the second half of the year. Congratulations to all of us who have made it so far.

In the course of the year, some of us died. Some have lost members of their families. To those who have lost loved ones, I sympathize with you and wish you the best.

For those of us who are still alive, I urge us to count ourselves blessed and to take advantage of the new opportunity.

Today also marks the beginning of the month of the Nigerian Bar Association election. We are now at the final stage of the race. According to the latest Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) notice, we have only 28 days more before the election.

As we head into this last lap, I wish to express appreciation to all of you for being with me all through. It has been an amazing journey so far. Thank you for believing in and standing by me.

My journey, in the past few months, has given me a clearer perspective as to how the Bar is, what it needs to be, and how we can get there.

This journey has been long and hard, tempered only by the support and love you have shown me.

Now, we are almost at the finish line.

I urge us to muster all our energies, do the best we can for the Bar of our dreams and to comply with all ECNBA guidelines and rules.
We all should also remain vigilant. Let us remind our friends of their obligations as members of the Bar.

Above all, let us remember that we are one Bar. We must treat our colleagues with dignity and respect even when we are tempted to do otherwise. Let us be as cordial and friendly as we can in relating with all colleagues because in the end, we are one and we can only stand if we are united.

We have done great so far. Let’s do even better now.
