The Opening Ceremony of the IBA-African Regional Forum conference holding in Accra took place yesterday with a Keynote address by the President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo represented by the Attorney General of Ghana Gloria Akuffo who emphasized on the need for Lawyers to develop competence in emerging areas of Law to be able to compete globally.
Among those Present are The President of Ghana Bar Association, Benson Nutsukpui,President of Nigerian Bar Association(NBA), A.B Mahmoud, Chair of IBA-African Regional Forum, Nene Amagatcher, Vice Chair,IBA-African Regional Forum- Anthony Atata, Chairman,NBA Section on Business Law- Olumide Apkata.
The Secretary of The Ghana Bar Association, Justin Amenuvor who gave the vote of thanks was present with his counterpart from Nigeria, Aare Isiaka Abiola Olagunju.
Some other Lawyers present were Dr Babtunde Ajibade, Mallam Yusuf Ali,Monday Ubani, Priscilla Ogwemoh, Kelechi Ugbeva, Ijeoma Abalogu, Monkom Gertrude Ntishor etc
The morning Session on Tackling corruption among Judges and reducing the delay in the resolution of Disputes will be moderated by Olawale Fapohunda with Chief Justice of Ghana,Justice Sophia Adiniyira, Chief Justice of Rwanda,Prof Sam Rugege and Andrew Moran QC as speakers.
