The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is currently interrogating a former Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Babatunde Fowler.
Fowler, who was also a former Chief Executive Officer, Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), responded to an invitation from the EFCC on Monday.
Fowler is a longtime ally of Bola Tinubu, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was arrested over an alleged N5bn fraud carried out while he headed FIRS.
The former FIRS boss is said to be undergoing interrogation at the anti-graft’s office in Lagos State.
According to Sahara Reporters, nine senior officials were detained by the EFCC over alleged multi-billion Naira fraud in 2019.
