There is currently a standoff at the Federal High Court after operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) attempted to rearrest Yele Sowore.

Sowore, who had been arrested by the DSS, was finally released on Thursday, long after the court had approved his bail.
It has been reported that during the trial of Sowore and Olawale Bakare, operatives of the DSS stormed the court and chased away the presiding judge Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu.

They say Sowore and his lawyers are currently inside the court premises, with the operatives refusing them exit.

Before DSS rearrested Sowore, lawyers and journalists were locked out of the court as operatives threatened to seize and destroy phones and cameras of journalists.
