The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory has granted bail to lawyer detained by the DSS, Emperor Ogbonna, after an application for the enforcement of his Fundamental Rights was filed on his behalf by human rights activist, Monday Ubani Esq.

In the hearing today, the court after listening to Nkem Okoro Esq of Counsel, appearing with Obioma Ezenwobodo, for the Applicant, and after hearing the opposition to the application by DSS lawyer, the court held that DSS has not shown diligence in the prosecution of the case.
The court, therefore, granted bail to Emperor Ogbonna Esq, in the sum twenty million Naira (#20,000,000.00) and two sureties in the like sum, one of whom must be in the civil service, not less than level 14.

The matter was further adjourned by the court to 17th September 2020.
