FCT High Court in Apo has awarded the sum of N50 million damages against Senator Elisha Abbo over an assault against a woman in a sex toy shop in Abuja.
Abbo (PDP, Adamawa North) was caught on camera repeatedly slapping the woman, Osimibira Warmarte in the shop on May 11, 2019.
The court on Monday awarded the N50 million in favour of Warmate for assault.
A counsel in the matter, Lugard Tare-Otu tweeted that the court awarded the damages in suit number: FHC/CV/2393/19 which was commenced following the incident.
Senator Abbo, who was acquitted by a Magistrate Court in Abuja after his no-case submission, had earlier apologized to the woman for his action.
