In a letter dated the 12th day of November 2018 obtained by Courtroom Mail,the women Lawyers Association has written the President of Malawi over government cabinet appointment that marginalised women.
In the letter signed by the President of Women Lawyers Association,observed that there has been a decrease in the number of women in Cabinet from 4 to 3 women out of 20 cabinet members.They called upon the office of the president to review the recent appointments and increase the number of women in the cabinet.
They also called on the President to include women in all boards that have no women and ensure that all future public appointments comply with the law and the spirit of all human rights instruments that Malawi has signed up to.
