Adebayo Akinlade has defeated Bolatito Babasola to emerge as the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association,Ikorodu branch Courtroom Mail reports.
In the branch election held today ,70 members of the branch cast their votes in the Chairmanship election where Mr Akinlade had 38 votes while Babasola had 32 votes.
Julius Nnamani got 41 votes to emerge as the secretary while his opponent Ademola Adenaike scored 28 votes.
Courtroom Mail recalls that the election which was supposed to have been held last month was marred with controversies giving rise to the National body of the association to intervene appointing Bisi Ade-Ademuwagun,Niyi Idowu and Martin Ogunleye to organise a fresh election.
Abiola Ajayi, Esther Anayo and Adedotun Adetunji were returned unopposed as Welfare Secretary,Social Secretary and NEC Rep.
There were no candidates for Financial Secretary,Proviost and Legal adviser.
Olasunkanmi Oguniran defeated Rasaq Ogbara to become the Publicity Secretary while Adewunmi Oladipo emerged as treasurer defeating Majeed Hassan 44-25
Oluwaseun Aka emerged as the Assistant Secretary with a total vote of 41 against 28 scored by Kunle Adekoya.
