Nigeria’s Anthony Atata and South Africa’s Pieter Steyn will serve as the Co-Chairs of the African Regional forum of the International Bar Association in the next two years according to the information updated on the IBA website this week.


Another Nigerian,Dr Babatunde Ajibade will serve as a co-Vice Chair along with the former President of the Zambian Law Society,Linda Kasonde.
Nankunda Katangaza from Uganda will serve as the Secretary while Kimathi Kuenyehia will serve as the communication officer .
Caliis Nii Oman Badoo from the Security snd Exchange commission in Ghana was appointed the conference Coordinator while Yvonne Chilume from Botswana serves as membership officer.
Other officers include,Tshepo Shabangu from South Africa as the Publication officer,Oyeyemi Immanuel for Young Lawyers Liaison,Joyce Karanja from Kenya as website officer.
Vulindlela Sibanda from Zimbabwe is the conference quality officer.

The officers were nominated at the IBA annual conference in Rome last year and were due to resume this January.
Anthony Atata,who has previously served as a communication officer and Newsletter editor in 2013 and 2015 has shown an interest to lead the discussion on how Lawyers across Africa can take advantage of Law Tech and Artificial intelligence in the legal profession.
A conference is already being planned along that line for November in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
