DEAR Editor, where is MRS OVULARIA?”
“MRS OVULARIA” was the wife of CHIEF ZEBRUDAYA OKOLOIGWE NWOGBO” alias “430” in the popular radio/tv comedy/drama of the 1980’s, ”THE MASQUERADE.” The role of “OVULARIA” was after/played by Mrs Lizzy Evoeme. Earlier today (06/11/2019), we were treated to the two news items reproduced below. My letter became necessary because both news items which are directly opposite, are published on the same day, November 06, 2019, and are both from the same source, THE NATION Newspapers. See for yourself the stories.

??THE STORY: “Lizzy Evoeme, known as Ovularia in the 80s sitcom, ‘New Masquerade’ has passed away. Lizzy Evoeme, then played the submissive wife of Chief Zebrudaya (played by Chika Okpala) in the sitcom that also has several characters. Evoeme’s death was announced on Tuesday by Churchill Ebhodaghe on his twitter handle. Her death was confirmed by Tony Akposheri, who played the role of Zaccheus, Chief Zebrudaya’s house maid.”

??THE STORY: “One of the leading stars in The Masquerade, a television drama series now rested, Mrs. Lizzy Lizzy Ovueme, popularly known as Ovuleria, reported on social media and some online publications to have passed on is hale and hearty. She spoke with The Nation on phone from her Port Harcourt home indicating she is alive. Though did not speak much on phone, her voice sounded clear and sharp.”
???Please, dear Editor, there is need for you to advise us on the true position of things; is Ovularia, the wife or ZEBRUDAYA OKOLOIGWE NWOGBO, dead or alive? You need to act fast; else, people may be forced to heed this advice given by SIR THOMAS JEFFERSON in his 14 June 1807 letter to John Norvell: ”…. Nothing can now be believed which is seen in a newspaper. Truth itself becomes suspicious by being put into that polluted vehicle. …. the man who never looks into a newspaper is now better informed than he who reads them; inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods & errors…..”
